Founded in 1960, Clayton Marcus furniture is a well-established, leading manufacturer of medium to upper-medium priced upholstered furniture. Clayton Marcus' product collections cover a broad variety of style categories including casual, classic, and cottage. Clayton Marcus's headquarters are located in Hickory, North Carolina and the company operates three manufacturing facilities, totaling over one million square feet. Their products are distributed through hundreds of independently owned retailers throughout the United States and Canada and around the world.

The Clayton Marcus Company was founded in 1960 by Clayton Marcus Teague. The first sofas were built in the basement of his home, but he quickly had to relocate to a 5000 sq. ft. cinder block building to keep up with customer demand. Today the company has grown to include 3 facilities and employs over 400 people from the Hickory, NC area.

Clayton Marcus furniture has evolved into a well established, leading manufacturer of medium to upper-medium upholstered furniture. Their product collections cover a variety of style categories ranging from classic traditional to casual cottage and transitional. Additionally, Clayton Marcus offers a broad selection of occasional chairs that provides a natural complement to their fully upholstered products. Clayton Thomas has also launched a successful occasional table program that also coordinates with their upholstered products.
