Cochrane Furniture

Founded in 1905, Cochrane featured home designs from
John Cochrane. He saw the need and potential of a wood products manufacturing
plant which could produce showcases and mantels. Since the fireplace
was an absolute necessity for every home, John Cochrane felt that
every home should have a decorative and unusual mantel. Soon the
business became successful and mantels were sold by the carload.
Since 1928 the company was incorporated as Cochrane Furniture Company.
In the early 1930’s Cochrane Furniture was
under the operation of John Cochrane’s four sons. At this point,
the company’s leading products were oak and pine dining room
tables and chairs. As sales increased, the company began adding to
the line by producing china cabinets, servers and dry sinks to complete
the dining room. When early American Furniture became popular, Cochrane
began using hard maples as the primary lumber and the maple leaf
was added to the logo.
In 1987 Cochrane Furniture began producing living room furniture.
This offering in the line was another successful addition to complete
the home. Cochrane
Upholstery now produces quality living room products with innumerable styles
including traditional, casual, country, transitional and contemporary. Through
the years Cochrane Furniture has met the needs and challenges of producing
furniture to complete the home and now offers a much more manifold line.

The quality products that Cochrane produces today
include bedroom, dining and living room furniture using a variety
of lumbers including maples and oaks and having an assortment of
